Carmela Gonzales is an Account Manager at the Fast Forward Group. She is responsible for end-to-end program management and ensuring the principles and tools we teach become the new normal for clients.
Prior to joining Fast Forward, Carmela was a policy, communications, and marine sustainability professional. She most recently ran operations for an ocean-tech startup in the illegal fishing and maritime surveillance industry where she helped secure $7+ million funding. Prior to that, she advised the United Nations Environment Programme, UN-Habitat, and the Ministry of Environment Japan on a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) related to ocean plastic pollution.
With a Trilingual International BA Honours in Political Science (English/French/Spanish) and an MSc in Marine Systems & Policies from the University of Edinburgh, Carmela draws on her multilingual experience in international relations, consulting, and project management to fuel Fast Forward’s global programs. It is her passion for human connection and tangible change that drives her love for this work.
When not with Fast Forward, Carmela can be found on ABS-CBN’s talk-magazine-game show, “BRGY: Our Global Barangay” where she is a Co-host, Producer, and Writer, in Tagalog and English. She plays a number of sports, won the UK University Kickboxing Championship in 2017/18, and her vocals can be found on the video game Dreams (on PS4/PS5). You can catch her at her home base in Toronto, Canada but most of the time she is off traveling to her next sporty adventure.
